I admit I came late to precuts but now I actually adore them! And Christmas precuts are my absolute favourite. They plop through the door in happy little padded envelopes and it’s so exciting to open them and look through all those sweet prints. This year, I decided on Moda’s ‘Jol’ charm pack by Northern quilts for a festive project.
Those little reindeer!! And the hearts!
I made this Seasonal Snippets table runner in an afternoon. The design uses one pack of 5″ squares. It features three central blocks to showcase the gorgeous prints, a wide mitred border and a scrappy binding. The best thing is, it is super quick to sew, economical to make and so versatile.
By choosing a different charm pack, you can completely alter the style of your table runner.
I loved the prints in Moda’s ‘Mon Ami’ charm pack. Who could resist fabric with an actual cat on an actual bike! As I wanted this to be summery décor, I added a butterfly fluttering off the corner of the quilt. Of course the full-size template and all the instructions for the butterfly are included in the Seasonal Snippets table runner pattern.
The finished runners are great for gifts, especially if you have a loved one with a particular interest. I’m currently looking at all the coffee inspired fabric collections for Himself! Seriously, he drinks bowlfuls of the stuff!
Precuts have been such a revelation to me but so far I have only sewn with charm packs. Which are your favourite precuts? And do you use them often? I would love to hear your thoughts below!
You can get your copy of the Seasonal Snippets now in my shop.

What darling runners, Sandra! Perfect for gifts! Now I need to go find my charm packs, tucked away in a drawer 🙂
Thanks, Wendy! I love finding a little stash of fabric that I’ve tucked away somewhere and forgotten about it. It’s like fabric shopping without the hassle, or the expense!
Your table runner is cute! I love the reindeer in the charm pack. Thanks for sharing! I’ve mostly used 10 inch squares and 2-1/2 inch strips in the precut line! I do have a few charm packs though.
Thanks, Brenda, I adore the reindeer too! I’m very tempted by the 2 1/2 strips, I reckon they would be great for bag designs. This may well be one of my new year projects!
Your table runner is adorable and what a bonus that it went together so quickly. Love your fabric!
Thanks, Ramona! The fabric was Moda ‘Jol’ by Northern Quilts, I thought it was so gorgeous!
It took me awhile too, but they are so useful! The runner you did is adorable. I have come to love precuts for quick projects. The quilting you did on this on is fun too!
Thanks, Kathleen, I like quilting to be simple as it’s my least favourite part of a project! I’ve always loved scrappiness so precuts are just perfect for me.
What a great plan for a table runner and a perfect Christmas gift as well.
Thank you, Kathi! I’m all about quick makes at this time of the year!
This is such a festive tablerunner! It looks really quick to make too 🙂
It’s super fast, Sherry! Thanks for popping over!
