Last year something dug up a little clutch of crocus bulbs and left them half-chewed on my car bonnet. It felt personal.
The same something also dug up the Middle One’s dead goldfish which had been buried two weeks previously. It was also half-eaten. Dear Reader, when you have seen that, you can never, ever UNSEE it.
My very lovely Mother-in-law adores daffodils and fills her home with vases of flowers every Spring.
For Mother’s Day this year I made her this little quilt, so she could have daffodils all the year round! I love how bright and clear the cottons look against the linen. The background is a Rachel Ashwell Treasures Wildflower Sprigs print.
The gorgeous, vintage buttons came from an old button box that my Mother’s ninety year old neighbour gave her a few years ago. The colours seemed just perfect for this quilt. I would love to know their history!

Can I buy this afternoon?
Sorry, Patricia, I haven’t released this as a pattern.
Beautiful quilt. What a lovely gift!!
I also love daffodils and am thrilled when any bulb planted blooms!
Thanks for commenting, Annette! Yes, it is always a little miracle every spring to see the new shoots break through the soil. I’m delighted you like the quilt too.
