How are you all doing? I hope you are all keeping well. It has been a long time since I have blogged. In the Healy household, the kids have faced exams, cancellations then rescheduled exams. Then there were more cancellations and finally exam after exam after exam. Fortunately all are now finished and it is such a delight to get back to sewing and blogging and just living. I am so thrilled to show you the new nautical quilt blocks that I have been working on.

This nautical range includes six traditionally pieced 12″ blocks. They look great as centrepieces by themselves or can be combined in all sorts of interesting ways to make a whole host of different projects. You could mix and match the blocks to make table toppers, wall hangings or even a set of pillows for a beach house.

The nautical range includes an anchor, a seagull and a lighthouse which are quick and easy to sew.

The crab and boat are a little more involved but so worth it! The crab is cut to 1/8″ measurements and includes multiple small pieces because of all those legs! The narrowest width piece is 7/8″ wide. The boat also contains some small pieces, the smallest of which is 1″ square. I love the little fishes swimming in the boat’s wake!

Both the seagull and fish come with instructions to make both a left and right facing version. This is very useful if you want to combine multiple blocks in one quilt. You can create a fun layout of blocks by positioning fish or birds facing different ways.

I cannot decide which is my favourite, the seagull, the crab or the boat, what about you? Which do you like best?
These nautical quilt blocks are available in a six piece pattern bundle, a three piece pattern bundle or you can buy each block separately.

I’m excited to move on to working on some autumn patterns in this serene, exam-free household. I would love to hear what quilt blocks you would like to see. Leave me a comment or send me a message with any of your ideas. I would be delighted to hear your suggestions!
In the meantime, I hope restrictions are easing near you and you can enjoy your summer with loved ones.
Happy stitching and stay well,
Sandra xx
