Ta-dah! Here is my first, brand-new quilt block of 2022. This kitty cat quilt block is a 12″ machine pieced block.
It is fun personalising your cat by choosing different fabrics. You could even make a siamese cat with dark ears and face and paws, so cute! I’ve included two blank templates with the pattern so you can try out different colour options before you begin. I added little white paws and some splashes of grey to make the cat below.
As you can see, the pattern comes with instructions to make both a left and right facing cat. This makes the pattern more versatile as the quilt blocks will look great when combined together.
The kitty cat quilt block also goes particularly well with the puppy dog block.
I want to make a gorgeous ginger tabby but I’m still searching for the right shade of orange. Has the pandemic impacted your fabric purchasing? My local quilt shop closed down when the owner retired, pre-covid. And the other local quilt shop moved to online sales since the pandemic began. All of which means it’s been over two whole years since I set foot in a real actual quilt shop! Fortunately, I’ve found some great online shops. And even when you’ve ordered the parcel, and know exactly what it’s in, it’s still so exciting when it pops through the door!
Thanks to my friend, Deb, who made me giggle with this lovely photo of her pup Sadie who doesn’t look too sure about sharing the sofa with any sort of cat!
You can visit my shop to get the cat quilt block and the puppy dog quilt block or check them out in my Etsy shop.
These blocks are adorable, Sandra! And I love how the pup is looking at that kitty cat block! LOL
Thanks, Brenda! Deb took a great photo. Somehow I never have my phone handy in moments like that!
Another fun block to construct, Sandra! That look on Sadie’s face is too funny!
Thanks, Wendy! So glad you liked the block. Enjoy your day!
Another great block, Sandra. Love the picture of the dog looking at the cat. Wendy did a great job on her version too!
Thanks, Kathleen, so glad you like it. Thanks for stopping by!
Do you ever do tutorials?
Hi Lisa, there are a couple on the blog for projects you can make with the blocks. Sandra
